With an objective to help the New English School & Jr. College in Borde Vasti, Maltha, Pune to create a conducive learning atmosphere for its staff and students, Tata Green Batteries decided to build proper toilets for them. The senior leadership members from our team were involved in the en concentrators of 10 LPMtire initiative. We installed 20 Biological-Toilets, each well-equipped with taps, flushes, wash basins, proper ventilation, and electrical illumination facilities.
15 of these toilets will be used by the teaching staff and the remaining will be for the students. The special feature of the M Biological-Toilet is that it can dispose solid human waste in an eco friendly, economical, and hygienic manner. It has been developed from the innovative M Bio Digester technology that employs bacterial inoculums to convert human waste into biogas and usable water.
This initiative is beneficial to the school, its students & staff, and the planet as well!

Taking another step in the fight against the pandemic, Tata AutoComp GY batteries donated 2 Oxygen concentrators of 10 LPM to the Guru Nanak hospital & the Gurdwara Pune Camp.
We are proud to be a part of the Tata family and this endeavour where we stand together as a community. This oxygen concentrators will provide free service to the people that require Oxygen for their medical treatments.

The TATA Group has always believed in giving back to society. This “giving back” doesn’t have to be monetary as long as it makes a difference. At TGY, we always believe in making a difference. With this aim, we have adopted a girl’s orphanage named Gnyanesh Balsadan situated in Phulgaon village near Pune.
The girls from this orphanage do not have access to quality education and other basic needs. Due to the pandemic, most of their classes are being conducted online and many of the girls are deprived of attending these classes due to the absence of computers, laptops, or digital facilities. Hence, we as a team decided to provide them with laptops, school bags, shoes, and other needs, which will help them learn and keep up with their classes.
In the next phase, we plan on providing them with three more laptops and a subscription to online courses, which will help them nurture the basic skills required to pursue their career. We also visit them at regular intervals to offer them advice for their careers.

It is said that every dark cloud has a silver lining. That is why even during these trying times, we asked people on social media to share their best moment of 2020.
For every happy moment story that was shared with us, we distributed blankets to the ones in need. In the end, we received more than 50 happy stories from our users that helped us distribute over 500 blankets in Gurgaon, Mirkutwadi Village, Mathwadi and Shirawali near Khandala and Lonavala.
As the true spirit of Christmas lies in the joy of giving, we are glad to have forwarded some kindness and warmth.

To kickstart the new year in the right way, we conducted a road safety camp in the cleanest city of India – Indore. We believe that awareness precedes actions, and therefore, we carried out various activities to educate people about pollution control and the consequences of it.
Our team also undertook various activities to foster awareness about road safety and to educate people on practical ways to follow the same. Looking at the number of road accidents in India, we deemed it necessary to inform people about the benefits of wearing helmets so as to imbibe this culture in maximum number of cities and encourage safe driving.
Other than that, we at Tata Green Batteries also set up a free PUC camp and provided free battery checkups as well. We accomplished this with due support from the local police, and raised the bar on road safety awareness in Indore.

“In every crisis, doubt or confusion, take the higher path – the path of compassion, courage, understanding and love.” – Amit Ray
As India and the entire world struggled to remain afloat, some sections of society were affected more than the others. The middle class were confined to their homes, while the lower class found it difficult to make ends meet. With the termination of income for daily wage workers, every single day was a matter of survival. They neither had masks, sanitizers nor food and money to fulfil their basic necessities.
In these challenging times, we deemed it necessary to step up and support the society in our own way. So, we took it upon ourselves to supply food items, and groceries to stranded labourers in Ranjangaon and Pune. We distributed about 60 kilograms of rice, 50 litres of oil, and 30 kilograms of dal to hundreds of struggling labourers. Along with that, we also extended our support to the corona warriors by helping them with sanitation facilities. Because at the end of the day, what matters the most is how we give back to the society!

As we are one of the leaders in India’s transformation, we have lived by the philosophy of giving back to the society and we continue to do the same even during this time of distress. As the pandemic hit the country, and began affecting various communities, we set out to protect our dear ones residing in Gokul Gurugram, an orphanage and old age home.
At the onset, facts made it clear that children and old people were more susceptible to the virus. Thus, we made sure that they are equipped with adequate resources to protect themselves against the virus. We distributed masks and sanitizers to each and every member of Gokul Gurugram. Along with that, we also helped them with groceries and clothes to ensure that they do not face any difficulties during the lockdown. Members of Gokul Gurugram also attended a virtual session on COVID-19 and learnt ways in which they could keep themselves safe. Through this activity, we gave back to the society.

Inspired by the Swachh Bharat Mission, we realized the need to improve sanitation facilities around us and especially in rural areas. That is when we decided to adopt a village named Bhambarde in Ranjangaon.
We laid down structured plans to foster healthy sanitation practices in the village. Our future projects aim to build toilets that have a sanitary sub-structure, a ventilated superstructure along with a hand-washing unit. We strive to fight unhygienic conditions like flies, odour, and toxic waste heaps. We will also ensure that there is no contamination of soil, ground water or surface water by mosquitoes or otherwise.
We hope that this endeavour will prove to be successful and improve the sanitation system in Bhambarde. To initiate this change, we have begun with one village but we hope to spread this practice to as many locations as possible.

We did our bit to further the Swachh Bharat Mission. Our team at Tata Green Batteries carried out a cleanliness drive – “No day is better than today to take the pledge of cleanliness”.
The on-ground cleanliness drive was jointly executed by both our plant and marketing employees. The employees cleaned up the areas outside the plant that mainly included the MIDC roads. This initiative was not just aimed at promoting cleanliness and sensitising people about their responsibility towards the environment but also to inspire nearby companies to join hands for such cause in the future.

We recently organized a medical camp where we conducted a thorough medical check-up and distributed medicines to those in need. Towards the end, we distributed fruits and juice to conclude this activity.
Our motive behind this initiative was to dedicate a few hours to a greater cause. In doing so, we made a few of the elders smile and stay healthy!

Tata Green Batteries launched the ‘Check the Mech’ program. A free health check-up camp for mechanics from September 9th, 2017. This was a pan India initiative to ensure the good health of our mechanic crew. The activity was organised in Lucknow, Kanpur, Baroda, Surat, Rajkot, Indore, Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar, Ludhiana, Mumbai and Delhi and covered more than 1200+ mechanics.
The Chennai edition saw the participation of 200+ mechanics. Chief Guest, Mr. Yogesh Pradhan, DGM Marketing & Strategy, interacted with the mechanics. It was a great success and the mechanics were extremely happy to be a part of the program. They expressed their gratitude to Tata Green Batteries for taking up this one-of-a-kind initiative.

At Good Shepherd Home, every child is considered a blessing. They are provided with all the necessities of life like healthy meals, a house and quality education. Above all, they are also gifted with loving parents who take care of their physical as well as their emotional well-being.
We, at Tata Green Batteries, leave no stone unturned in supporting these kids. We visit them regularly to assess their immediate needs and take appropriate action to address them. During our June and August visit, we conducted personality development sessions, career counselling and a discussion on the job opportunities available for them.
Apart from these educational sessions, we also plan recreational activities for the children of Good Shepherd Home.
Every year, we take the children for a picnic. In 2019, we took the children and the staff members to Krushnai Water Park on the 27th of November. They enjoyed various games and competitions arranged by us at the venue.
At Good Shepherd Home, we also encourage the development of hobbies and creative expression. That is why we also conducted a fun-filled painting competition for the children on the 1st of December. On the 31st of December, they were taken through our manufacturing plant which they thoroughly enjoyed. They also indulged in various exciting activities like singing, dancing and playing games. We also provided them with biscuits, and gifts which they relished with sheer innocence.
